Here’s the Story happens again on February 3rd at our temporary location at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont, at 8pm! We’re right next door to our regular digs at Stage 773, which we will return to in March.

Arlene Malinowski is an actor/playwright whose 5 award-winning solo shows have been produced internationally. In addition to her film and TV work (some of it good- most of it bad) he has appeared on stages in LA and Chicago including the Goodman and Victory Gardens. She has a Doctorate degree from UCLA and teaches at Chicago Dramatists, Victory Gardens, privately and conducts master classes. She has been a contributing writer to a lot of literary publications with strange names like Paramanu Pentataquark, En Posse Review and The Week Behind. She is a and is a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists and a recipient of a Ragdale Residency. When she wants to show off she mentions that her work was cited in the Huffington Post and is to her knowledge, the only actor to appear both in Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure AND Doogie Howser and in the same 24 hours. arlenemalinowski.com

Actor, Writer, Facilitator, Comedienne, and Host Deanna Moffitt has worked with audiences as large as 5,000 and as small as one~ from Portland, OR to Istanbul, Turkey and many stops in between. As a performer she’s worked with Second City on Norwegian Cruise Line, iO Theater, ComedySportz and Hubris Productions, just to name a few. As a Facilitator/Coach she’s worked with clients like McDonalds, Wrigley, HP International, Corporate Learning Institute, Pepsi, American Express, Kendall College, Columbia Unviersity, Duke University, Carleton College and many, many more. She co-hosts “This Much is True” an evening of personal essay storytelling the second Tuesday of every month at The Hopleaf. She’s also been heard at Essay Fiesta, Stories at The Store and The Paper Machete. Deanna regularly coaches improv groups in Chicago and also works with college and HS improv groups from around the nation.

Jeff Gandy has been working with youth programs since his teen years in Mississippi. In addition to being Director of the Youth Training Center at The Second City, he is currently part of the youth program teaching staff at Old Town School of Folk Music and Joel Hall Dance Center. As an actor and improviser Jeff has performed with many teams at i.O. including Otis, Garbagé, The Strangers and currently Cowboy Couture. His love for sketch comedy is illustrated each time he performs with The Fowler Family.

Lisa Scott is a storyteller and playwright. She also has told stories for This Much is True and Small Fish Radio Theatre. You can see her work as a playwright every month as part of Chicago Madness, a program of Pegasus Players and Mortar Theatre. She is a member of the Chicago Dramatists playwrights’ network. For a living, Lisa has worked as a journalist, personal trainer and due-diligence consultant. She won Audience Favorite at last month’s Here’s the Story!

As always, we will host 5 open storytelling slots that anyone in our audience may fill. So bring food, bring friends, and bring your stories!
