Tag, Run, Survive: Join the Robot Apocalypse in Chicago

Let me let you into my life for a hot minute.

One thing I do at Story Luck is reach out to our storytelling features ahead of a show to kinda touch base. And after corresponding back and forth, they almost always say to me, “See you at the show.”

And every time like clock-work, I have to break their hearts a little with, “I am based in Nairobi, Kenya, so I won’t be at the show.” The same thing is about to happen again. This time, not for the show (which is coming up on October 12th), but for the Robot Apocalypse: Journey to the End of the Night, happening this September.

If you didn’t know it yet, one of the projects we organize at Story Luck is the  Robot Apocalypse: Journey to the End of the Night (RA:JEN). This classic city-wide game of zombie tag is coming back to Chicago on Saturday, September 20th. Meeting up at the start of the night in Lincoln Park, everyone will get a map with a list of secret checkpoints to visit along the way, along with two ribbons. And other simple rules of the game.

Since 2006, Journey to the End of the Night has delighted thousands of people all around the world as a challenge that pits your wits against the city streets. Originally created by Ian Kizu-Blair, Sean Mahan, and Sam Lavigne, it has had runnings in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Vienna, and of course, Chicago!

So, if you are in Chicago, sign up immediately to be part of the incredible game.

Wondering what you can do to help this author who will be very far away from Chicago?

Here’s something: On September 20th, take photos at the game, post across your socials, tag Story Luck, and use the hashtag #RAJEN2025.
And if you’ve got more money than time, donate to RAJEN, so we can continue producing free events for you, your friends, and everyone cool who lives in the city! And maybe next year I can plan a trip. 🤞🏿
