Our goal is to create storytelling shows so good people go home to tell stories about them.
We’ve helped dozens of interns and volunteers produce amazing shows, both virtual and live events. We are opening up this opportunity again. Your passions are best fulfilled when you can understand your why, and wrap that into a story framework. Narrative Performance is the key to connecting with your friends, family, coworkers and changing the systems around us. We all make decisions emotionally based on what we can understand.
Stories, parables, and even anecdotes are the key to communicating the value you offer others.
So, when you sign up to volunteer with Story Luck, you’ll be working on helping us create shows where people share from the heart. You’ll be working with and learning from both seasoned storytellers and new volunteers like you.
(If you live in Chicago, opportunities abound to work directly with us in person.)
3 New Projects, You Choose the One You Want to be Trained On.
- Detention Book Club.
You don’t have to read the book, but you have to show up for Detention. A podcast streamed live on Twitch. (4 week commitment.) - The Slacker’s Mastermind.
Here we meet once a week, to share our trials and tribulations and brainstorm positive actionable solutions. (10 week course.) - The Feedback Loop and Story Luck Potluck Show.
This is a writing collective who produces live shows. (6 week commitment.)
One of these opportunities calls to you.
Respond to this ad and let us know which event feels like you can put your heart and soul into the project.
Once you respond through Volunteermatch, we will work with you to set up a time to meet, virtually, to do an onboarding session. There we will get to know you, and you’ll get a free 1-on-1 storytelling training. This will help us assess where you are on your storytelling journey.
Then you’ll be put on the work email chain and be given projects and tasks to complete remotely as we get ready to launch these 3 products.
We are looking for 30min to 1hr a day for a minimum of 4 weeks. After which, if all goes well and the chemistry is right there will be two paths. One, where you jump onto one of these projects as a core member, two, you brainstorm your own project and we help you bring that to fruition.
Story Luck’s goal is to help people tell better stories about their lives. That includes you, and once you’re finished with this volunteer position, whether you stay on with us, or move to your next project… you will be a better storyteller.
