We have been sending postcards, and we’ve been giving post cards away. Some for you to mail to friends. Some for you to mail back to us. Elizabeth Harper has sent us a ton! And famously we’ve gotten one back from Joffre Stewart.
Today I opened the mail to find a particularly special package. Here are the contents:

I had the great pleasure of hitting Chicago’s Moth Story Slam last night and seeing some fine tellers hit the stage, and I stood in a swelling group of friends, some of whom I’d have never met without the Moth. I have only been to the Beat Kitchen once, it was to attend some friends’ fundraiser, they were working on an economic disaster play, they did a read through of the first half of the first half, which we were warned, “It’s not finished yet, this might not make it into the final thing,” and though they had twelve actors present a number of them had to double up. I remember it being sort of dark absurdest, and though I signed up for their email list, I wasn’t pinged when it went up so I can’t tell you how it turned out.
Looking over the Elizabeth’s poem I see that the Beat Kitchen didn’t cease to exist upon my leaving that night.

At the last show we were handing out postcards designed by Amy Kuttab. When I made these postcards I explained to the printer, “We’re hoping people go to shows and mail them back to us with little stories on them. We are an organization that promotes storytelling in all it’s forms.”
He replied, “Are you going to put stamps on them?”
I frowned, “No.” That was unfortunately not in our budget.
He empathized with my budget concerns and then with a breathy chuckle said, “Never going to happen, but good luck.”

One of the main goals at Here’s the Story is to get people telling stories. To this end we’ve been doing a little art project with Elizabeth Harper, from Elizabeth’s Crazy Little Thing. Who’s one year anniversary show is coming up this Wendsday. It’s at Phyllis’ Musical Inn and I’d say, “Don’t miss it.” (We will likely keep reminding you.)

So Elizabeth is having her 1 year anniversary at Phyllis’s Musical Inn I first met her at a place called Trace, which had a ten year open mic run. She’s taken a lot of, what I think was Trace’s open spirit and brought it to Division Street. I’m very much looking forward to this August 10th show.
The last show I got to go to was Kelsie Huff’s, The Kates at the book cellar.

Today's the last day of my Easter holiday and I'm going to make it a build day.
